Tornado Weather

First of all, happy Memorial Day.

Unfortunantly for many here in Iowa, it's not so happy. We were going to have a family get together today, but with the tornados that ripped through Iowa last night, we had to cancel. Family friends who live in New Hartford barely made it into their basement before a tornado hit their house, taking all but the basement with them. They are now homeless. They spent the night spred out between a few homes. It's insane; it doesn't feel real. Things like this only happen to people that you don't know. Not people you are close to.

Today will begin the relief work, hopefully. As long as we're let into the city, we'll be out there helping them clean up after the tornado and doing whatever they need.

Please pray, as many have lost homes and some, even family.

Thank God even crazy dreams come true

I am: a little random a times, a pretty self-conscious, though you'd never be able to tell.
I think: a lot. I tend to daydream often.
I know: that I've changed a lot in the past few years.
I want: to own my own home; to quit relying on others so much.
I wish: that I could find clothes that fit.
I hate: it when people think they know me.
I miss: playing volleyball; feeling safe in my own house.
I fear: just about everything possible.
I feel: sleepy, but very blessed.
I hear: Jesse doing dishes... more specifically, washing bottles.
I smell: my baby girl - I love how babies smell.
I crave: a nice long bath with no interruptions - and then a good nights sleep.
I search: for houses to buy.
I wonder: when I'll be able to do something with my hair.
I regret: quitting piano.
I love: warm, sunny days and a good book.
I ache: when my baby girl cries.
I care: about what my husband thinks.
I always: put on chapstick after I brush my teeth.
I am not: too young for this.
I believe: in God.
I dance: very seldomly, and only with Jesse.
I sing: obnoxiously in the car and to Olivia.
I cry: often, and usually for no reason.
I don't always: answer the phone when I don't know the number, or am busy doing something with Olivia. But I will call you back if you leave a message.
I fight: over silly things.
I write: occasionally.
I win: when we play MLB baseball on the Xbox.
I lose: at most games.
I never: swear.
I confuse: a lot of things lately.
I listen: to Carrie Underwood's cd (Carnival Ride) in the car all the time.
I can usually be found: at my parents house unless Jesse is home.
I am scared: of just about everything.
I need: to find the time to go clothes shopping for me.
I am happy about: Olivia sleeping most of the night.
I hope: David Cook wins American Idol.

It's about time

I get back to writing. I've been a little busy... obviously, but now things are starting to become routine and I have a bit more time to myself. Not a lot, mind you, but enough.

Getting used to a newborn has been a little bit of a challenge, though Olivia has been a very good baby. She hardly fusses, and usually when she does it's because she's hungry, tired, or poopy. All things that are easily fixed. So far she hasn't been colicy, which is great. I don't know how long I'd be able to stay sane. I do wish that she'd go to bed earlier than 1-2 am, but at least once she's asleep, she'll sleep for at least 5 hours at a time.

I've been searching the blogging world for baby freebies and coupons and things, so feel free to share all secrets. Saving money would be great... especially since I have to buy myself a whole new wardrobe... Sigh. I'm not looking forward to going shopping for myself, but I'm very tired of wearing maternity clothes & sweatpants. If only clothes in my size would fall from the sky. At least my sister gets a good deal - meaning all the clothes that I don't fit in... which is 98% of what I already own. Sigh.
